Jay Steenhuysen has 16 years of philanthropic planning experience, working with individuals, families, and charitable organizations. Jay consults with individuals and families to assist them in developing their philanthropic interests and discovering avenues to express those interests through charitable giving. In addition to working closely with individuals and their families, Jay provides consulting services to many nationally recognized charitable organizations, including The Nature Conservancy and the American Cancer Society. Jay has worked with these and other charities to help them refine and refocus their gift planning offices and major gifts and fundraising programs in order to meet their charitable fund raising goals. Jay served full-time as National Director of Philanthropic Services for myCFO until its sale to The Harris Bank in November 2003. After the sale, Jay co-founded Charitable Entity Administration. Prior to myCFO, Jay assisted Brown University develop its philanthropic planning program and worked at World Vision, Inc., an international relief and development organization, serving in various roles including private giving counsel, director of gift planning, and capital campaign director. These programs sought to facilitate the philanthropic planning needs of World Vision’s most significant donors. Jay served as a board member of the National Committee on Planned Giving and has been active in the Planned Giving Round Table of Southern California. He holds a BA from Seattle Pacific University, an MA in theological studies from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Jay recently published an article in Worth magazine analyzing various entities available to achieve an individual’s philanthropic goals.
